Spic Macay (Society for promoting Indian classical music and culture amongst youth) seeks to spread the traditional Indian Values and generates awareness about the rich cultural heritage amongst the youth and the school children. \u00a0For the past 14 years, Silver Line has been successfully organizing lecture cum demonstration by eminent and renowned artists under the \u2018VIRASAT\u2019 series.\n\nThis year\u2019s Virasat series is dedicated to Dr. Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana (Carnatic Vocal), Vidwan Lalgudi Jayaraman (Violin), Vidwan MS Gopalakrishnan (Violin), Shri Ganesh\n\nSilver Line was honoured by the benign presence of Pt. Ronu Majumdar, the internationally acclaimed eminent flute maestro. He was accompanied by Pt. Sudhir Pandey (Tabla) and Shri Kalpesh Sachala (Flute).\n\nThe programme commenced by lighting the traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana presented by the school choir. Panditji told the children about different kinds of flutes and Taals. He explained the concept of \u2018Ragas\u2019. The children enjoyed singing sargam with him and then he played Rag Bhairav. The unison of the flute and Tabla in a Pahari melody carried audience to the world of pure ecstasy and delight.\n\nRonuda\u2019s contribution is the \u201cShank Bansuri\u201d, a 3-foot-long flute (0.91m) which given an extra dimension at the lower scales.\n\nThe vibrations of Sare Jahan Se Achcha on the flute generated the exact vibes which the children needed to rekindle their energy level. They all sang along with the recital and the thunderous clapping appropriately expressed the appreciative response for the performance.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Music is the elixir of life.
